After Roth had left, Luke no longer had an interest in making dinner, let alone going out. He fretted about the apartment trying to busy himself. He kept looking at the watch that Noah had given him. Luke took a deep breath. "Yeah. It was Roth. He stopped by. At first I thought he was here to pick you up, but he said that he was here to see me." Luke let out a heavy sigh. "I guess I should start at the beginning. This all started at the Winter Solstice dance. I got a feeling then that Roth was interested in me. I brushed it off thinking it was my imagination, but then after finals, he came out and actually admitted it."

Luke braced himself expecting Noah to be angry, but there was no reaction. He looked down at Noah. "Noah?" Noah had fallen asleep.

Luke scooted from under Noah and let him down onto the sofa. "Maybe it's for the best that he didn't hear me." He went and got a blanket and covered Noah up with it. "Roth was pretty upset when he left. I'm sure after what happened he won't be approaching me again, so there is no need to upset Noah about it."

Luke went to the kitchen and grabbed an apple. He wasn't really hungry, but felt like he should eat something. He then went into the bathroom and brushed his teeth. He climbed into bed and tried to convince himself that everything was going to be fine and after awhile he fell sleep.

Roth was sitting on a bench outside the gym when Eddie came out. "Hey Roth, what you doing here?"

Roth got up. "Waiting for you. I really messed things up."

Eddie rolled his eyes. He had gotten Roth out of so many jams over the years. "What is it this time?"

Roth proceeded to tell Eddie of the earlier events with Luke. "I've blown any chance now."

Eddie pulled Roth over to the bench and they sat back down. "How did you leave things?"

Roth shook his head. "I just apologized and got out of there as fast as I could."

Eddie nodded. "That's good. You showed remorse. He knows you were high. After a few days he will chalk it up to that. You just have to avoid him and if you see him let him see how bad you feel about what you did. Don't be your normal self, avoid eye contact, so he knows how guilty you feel. I know guys like that he will start to feel sorry for you. After a week or so, if you happen to run into him apologize again and see how he reacts. I won't be surprised if he has softened to you."

Roth was encouraged. "Do you really think so?"

Eddie patted him on the back. "Have I ever steered you wrong?"

Roth shook his head. "No Eddie. Your a real friend. How was practice?"

Eddie smiled. "Great they aren't going to know what hit them."

Roth nodded. "Great. How was Noah?"

Eddie smiled again. "You know if you weren't my friend I would tell you that you have no chance with Luke. That Noah is one fine specimen of a man. I can see why Luke is so into him. Still don't see why they haven't slept together yet."

Roth looked at the ground. "Turns out they did. Luke was all excited about it. That's part of what set me off."

Eddie thought for a minute. "Really. That makes things interesting."

Roth looked back at Eddie. "How so?"

Eddie got a sly grin on his face. "Now that he has tasted the goods. He just might be curious as to what other flavors are out there."

Roth shook his head. "I don't know. Noah doesn't seem like the type."

Eddie slapped Roth on the leg as he got up from the bench. "Haven't I taught you anything Roth. All men are the type."

Luke was sleeping fretfully in the bed when Noah climbed in behind him and began kissing his neck. He began to stir. "Noah?"
