He’s dead? Damian is dead? Luke asked still not quite believing what his boyfriend just told him. That’s what it says on these papers.. the funeral is next week. Do you want to go? I can take some time off work and school can wait for a few days. Noah said. No, no I don’t want to go. We’re not spending our money on him. But I just can’t believe it.. He was here, right here just a few weeks ago.. oh my god. He must’ve known he was dying and he came to say goodbye! And I slammed the door in his face! Oh god.. I’m such a horrible person! Luke said. Luke said getting up from the sofa. What you still want to have that party? We can cancel it. I’m sure no-one would mind if we just explained it to them. Noah said. No I don’t want to cancel. I just want to forget I ever knew Damian Grimaldi and what better way to do that than a party. Come on, let’s go. Luke said pulling Noah up from the sofa.

What’s in that letter darling? Lucinda asked her daughter. I – I don’t believe it.. It says here Damian is dead.. Lily answered. Really? Well I say that calls for a celebration! Lucinda said. I wonder if Luke knows yet. Lily said ignoring her mother. I have to call him. No you don’t. If Luke knows he has Noah there with him for support. He’ll come to you if he wants to darling. Don’t worry about him, Noah will make sure he is alright. You know that. Lucinda said taking the phone away from her daughter just in case.

Hmm Luke don’t.. people will be arriving soon. Noah said while being kissed and pulled into the bedroom by his boyfriend. Well.. I..can.. be.. quick. Luke said in between kisses. Hmm yeah sure baby. Sure you can be quick. Noah said trying to remember why this was a bad idea right now. Do you need proof of how quick I can be Noah? Luke said unbuttoning Noah’s shirt. Before Noah could answer he was on his back on his and Luke’s bed. I’ve been wanting to do this all day. Luke said undoing Noah’s belt. Uh hmm you have done this today baby. Noah said trying to get up. Oh no, you’re not going anywhere mister Mayer. I intend to finish what I started. Luke said pulling on Noah’s jeans. Then the doorbell rang. Damn it! Our friends’ timing sucks! Luke said getting off of Noah and making his way to the front door. Hey! What happened to finishing what you started. Noah said. Hmm yeah that will have to wait for a few hours baby. Luke said with a devilish smile, eyes fixed on the obvious bulge in his boyfriend’s trousers.

Hey Mads! Luke said hugging his friend. How are you? Haven’t seen you in a while. Uh yeah I uh have been busy. She said. Where’s Noah? Oh uh he’s just taking care of a little problem in the bathroom. Luke said grinning. Problem? Never mind I don’t think I want to know. Maddie said after seeing the grin on her friend’s face. So who else is coming over tonight? Well Casey as you already know and Ameera, you know Noah’s green card bride, we told you about her. Maddie nodded. And erm Aaron said he’s stop by.. and a few people from college.. oh and Noah invited a guy from work. Scott I think his name is.. Don’t really know him that well but Noah likes him so I guess he’s a good guy. Luke said. Who is a good guy? Noah said walking up behind Luke and wrapping his arms around his boyfriends waist. I’m so getting you back for that stunt you pulled on me Snyder. He whispered in Luke’s ear. Luke grinned and said. You know that guy you work with.. Scott right? I was just telling Maddie about him. Oh yeah he is a good guy. Fun to talk to. He listens to my stories about my incredibly hot boyfriend and doesn’t usually mind switching shifts so I can be with said hot boyfriend. Noah said and kissed Luke’s cheek.

A little while later the party was in full swing. Music was playing, people were talking and laughing. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Hey Scott glad you could make it. Noah said to his friend. Yeah of course, I’m not the kind of person that turns down a party invite. I’m liking the view too. Scott said with a cheeky grin on his face. Just you stay away from the cute blonde guy in the red shirt, ok. That one is mine. Noah said laughing.

Hello Luke. Ameera said smiling. Oh hey Ameera. How are you? How is L.A.? Luke asked. L.A. is great. But I do miss you and Noah and Oakdale. Aww well you can always come over and sleep on our sofa if you want. Just give us a call and we’ll pick you up from the airport Luke said smiling at the girl that caused him so much pain in the past. Thank you. I am glad to see you and Noah so happy together. And you two are always welcome to come stay with me in California. Well we might just take you up on that offer Luke said with a big smile on his face and his gaze focusing on Noah who was talking to his friend on the other side of the room. Are you staying in town for a few more days? I’m sure my mum and dad and the girls would love to see you. Yes I am staying at the Lakeview hotel until Monday. Noah arranged it for me. Ameera answered. Great. Luke said not really paying attention to what the girl was saying. He was lost in thoughts about him and Noah. He wanted to finish what they had started earlier that day. But none of their friends looked like they were about to leave any time soon. And Noah was too busy talking to people to notice Luke’s longing looks.

Maddie hey. Casey said as he sat down next to his ex-girlfriend. You look really nice today. Oh thanks Casey Maddie replied so do you. So ehm how have you been? she asked. Uh yeah ok I guess. Casey stammered. He had caught himself thinking about Maddie a lot lately. He had been dating since he and Maddie broke up but it was safe to say he never really got over her. None of those girls had measured up to Maddie. And now he was talking to her desperately hoping she still felt the same about him too. So ehm are seeing anyone right now? He heard himself ask. No not anymore. I broke up with him. Maddie answered. Casey was cheering on the inside. No Boyfriend!! He thought. Why did you break up with him? Because he was and still is in love with my best friend. She giggled and nodded at Luke and Noah who were dancing together to a slow song. Oh .. OH! Casey said as he finally understood who she was talking about and laughed. So are you? Seeing anyone right now I mean. Maddie asked him. Nope. He answered. They sat and talked together and soon it was like nothing had happened between them. They were just like old friends again. But suddenly something changed. They looked into each other’s eyes and Casey couldn’t fight the urge to kiss Maddie anymore. So he gave in to his feelings and kissed her. He expected a slap in the face or her telling him she liked him as a friend but he didn’t expect what actually happened. She kissed him back!
Noah, look. Luke said as he saw his friends kissing on the sofa. Noah did as he was told and was a little shocked when he saw Maddie and Casey together. Looks like she’s definitely over you babe. Luke said and softly kissed his boyfriend.
