Ameera was truly touched by Luke and Noah's gesture. She started to walk towards the kitchen. "I'll go get plates and a knife."

Noah stopped her. "Ameera, I told you that you don't have to wait on me. Besides it's your birthday."

Ameera stopped. "...but I'm your wife."

Noah went to get the plates. Luke put down the cake. "Ameera. I know that you and Noah are married and it is probably really hard for you to understand, but we are all in this together. We have to work together or this will not work."

Ameera nodded. "I understand, but I can't change who I am."

Luke nodded. "I understand that. We don't expect you too, anymore than we can change who we are."

Ameera dropped her eyes. "I think I understand what you are trying to say."

Noah came back in from the kitchen. "Ameera, I understand why you did what you did. I'm the only person that you know and because of what I did you probably took your feelings of gratitude and made them into something more. It's understandable."

Luke nodded. "It is, that's why it was so good that Casey was here. His feelings were hurt, he could tell that you were falling for Noah."

Ameera looked at the ground. "I really hurt him. He was trying to be my friend."

Noah put his hand on Ameera's. "Maybe if you talk to him. Let him know that you were mistaken."

Ameera shook her head. "I don't know."

Luke spoke up. "I don't either. He really didn't like the idea of pretending to be my boyfriend and with me living here, I don't know if that will be necessary anymore."

Noah put his hand on Luke's face. "I'm not sure if I like that arrangement anyway, but it would be someone for Ameera."

Ameera nodded. "Maybe I can talk to him."
