Luke sat in the porch and thought about what had just happened.He wanted to stay with Noah so bad, but not this way.Why did this have to happen to me?? He loved Noah so much and he felt it was all just slipping through his fingers.
Noah sat in his backyard at the Cottage he shared with Ameera.His eyes were red where some tears had escaped out.He knew what Luke said had been right, but he needed him.To feel him at night and know that he could wake up every morning to look into those beautiful brown eyes.When he looked at Luke, he always knew that everything was going to be ok.
Noah took out his cell phone and called Luke.As Luke sat on the porch, he felt his phone vibrating.He took it out of his pocket and saw it was Noah.He almost decided not to answer, but he could not.Not to his Noah.
"Hello Noah, " Luke said as he answered the phone.Noah sighed when he heard Luke's voice."Luke, I am so sorry.We have to do something.I can not keep living like this.Not when I am married to her, but want to be with you," Noah said.Luke spoke slowly, "Well Noah, what CAN we do?? You have to keep this up or she will be deported.I just have no room in your life right now." Luke's voice cracked at the end, causing Noah's heart to speed up quickly.
"Luke I am going to divorce her.I am in love with you.And you only.There is ROOM in my life for you.You are my life." And with that Noah hung up leaving Luke wondering what was going to happen next...

Luke continued to brood on the porch, closing his eyes after hanging up with Noah. He was dreaming about what could have been when he heard the door open.
"Noah, what are you doing here?"
"I'm not sure exactly. I went for a walk after our chat and I suddenly found myself here. Are you sorry I came?"
"Of course not. I love you. Can we finish the talk we had on the phone?"
"I thought we left things pretty well."
"We did, but that doesn't mean we still don't have a lot to talk about. Are you really divorcing Ameera? How are we going to keep her in the country?"
"I'm not sure. All I know is that I can't keep hurting you. You are more important to me than she will ever be. Don't you even know how much I love you?" Luke smiled his crooked grin and looked at Noah through his tousled hair.
"I do now. So what do we do now?" Noah took both of Luke's hands into his and kissed them. He pulled Luke up from the bench.
"I thought you would never ask." Luke started to lead them off the porch.
"Where are we going?"
"The barn. There is no place more private than the hayloft and that is the last place the ICE would think to look for us."
"Who cares about the ICE?"
"We need to, at least for a little longer until we figure this out. Are you coming or not?"
"I wouldn't miss this for anything." Noah took Luke's outstretched hand and allowed himself to be willingly led to the barn.

What should have been a simple trip to the barn was stooped suddenly when a figure stepped in front of their path.
Noah: “Ameera what are you doing here!”
Ameera: “Noah . . . I was . . . worried about you. You were out back and then just took off, I need to know where you go.”
Noah: “Well soon enough it will be none of your business”
Luke couldn’t help smiling to himself something was up with her. At first he thought that she had a crush on Noah. But then it seemed like she was faking it. Her concern for Noah just then was forced. What was real was her hatred of Luke and their relationship. “Well I guess she’ll look where the ICE won’t. Haven’t y . . .” Luke said hoping that Noah would start telling her exactly what she needed to hear.
Noah: “Ameera you have come between us too often I don’t want to talk to you right now, if I did I would of brought you along”
Ameera: “Well I just wanted to find you because there was a call from Officer Griffen. Your father wants to see us . . . you., I mean you and me because remember I still need to talk with him?”
Noah: “Right well I’ll be back in a few hours. Please go home and wait for me there. Luke we need to . . . “
Ameera left scolding herself silently for that slip up. She had worked to hard she wasn’t going to wreck the arrangement now. Luke took both of Noah’s hands looked into his still red eyes and walked with him back to the house. When they walked through the porch doors, Luke reached for the kitchen door but Noah stopped him.
Luke: “Noah what is it, don’t you want to go in?”
Noah: “Don’t you see we are already in”
Luke smiled and turned completely around so he was facing his boyfriend. Noah led Luke to the couch on the porch and they both sat down.
Noah: “We have spent so much time out here, it’s almost like our escape in the house. So why go in there?” he said with a half smile. Luke understood what he meant. In the house there were questions, interruptions and the tension that the fake marriage was causing.
Luke: “I know, I love you” as much as he knew that they needed to talk about this and figure out what the divorce would be, Noah needed Luke just to be there like he had been.
Noah: “I love you too” he said and leaned into Luke. Luke shifted so Noah’s head rested on his chest and with his other hand ran his fingers through his hair. Without saying anything. Trying to do the best to comfort him. Once again the silence was comforting not awkward.
