Noah unlocked the apartment, opened the door, and stepped in. He was immediately attacked by Luke's arms.
Noah carried a large cardboard box with a cake inside. 'Hey watch it!'
He held the box high as Luke grabbed him around the waist. He set the box on the counter and turned to Luke.
Noah placed a hand on Luke's shoulder and held his waist with the other hand.
Luke couldn't resist kissing Noah's lips.
Noah gave his full attention to Luke's body.
Noah cupped Luke's face. He closed his blue eyes and kissed Luke's full, plump lips. He stopped and looked into Luke's sexy eyes then kissed him again.

Luke placed his warm hands on the sides of Noah's face. He drew his face closer to Noah's mouth.
Noah placed a hand on the back of Luke's head and gently entwined his fingers in his hair.
Luke brushed his quivering lips across Noah's lips then his tongue slipped into Noah's hungry mouth again.

Luke's hands found Noah's waistband. He untucked Noah's shirt and reached under it to rub his abdomen.

Luke walked out and down the hall to their friends' apartment. He knocked on the door and was let in. He handed the box to Matt. Jon walked up to Luke and smiled.
Matt asked, 'Where's Noah?' he walked over to the stove and continued cooking supper.
Luke stuttered and smiled, 'Um, you know how he is.....he, he had to make sure he looked just right.
Luke hugged Jon. 'Congratulations man! I cannot believe you're going to get married! You must be so excited.'
Jon gushed, 'I am, WE are excited. I can't believe he did this. He said he couldn't wait for our anniversary. Isn't he sweet?' Jon looked over at Matt cooking their meal.
'He IS sweet. So how did he ask you?' asked Luke.
Jon laughed, 'I came home from school yesterday and he told me he had a surprise for me in the bedroom. I said, yeah right, I've seen it a million times already and it's not that much of a surprise anymore.' Jon giggled. 'I walked into the bedroom and there were these teeny white Christmas lights shining all over the room. He had lit white candles and put them on the bedside table and on the window sill. There was a bottle of wine and glasses by the bed. Then right in the middle of the bed,' Jon teared up, 'he spelled out 'marry me' with white rose pedals. It was so beautiful. When I turned around, he was kneeling.' Jon wiped his eyes as Matt kissed him. 'I said 'yes' and now we are engaged! See the ring he got for me?' Jon held out his hand.
Luke held Jon's hand and said, 'It's beautiful.'
Noah knocked then let himself in.
Matt yelled from the kitchen, 'Hey Noah. How are you?'
'I'm fine. Congratulations! I'm happy for you!' Noah said while he walked towards Matt.
Matt turned around. Noah gave him a big hug. Matt replied, 'Thanks! I know I was going to wait two months for our anniversary, but I got too excited to wait that long.'
Noah walked up to Jon and gave him a big hug too. 'I'm really happy for you too, Jon.'
'Thanks Noah.' Jon kissed Noah's cheek and smiled.
Luke looked at his tall, handsome boyfriend. Noah had changed into a shirt that set off his eyes, making them a piercing blue that Luke could get lost into....and with his dark hair, and hard muscular body....
Luke jumped as Noah wrapped an arm around his waist.
Noah chuckled. 'Daydreaming about me again Luke?' '
Mmm-Hmm, how did you know?' asked Luke.
'I can tell.' Noah smiled and kissed Luke's temple.
Everyone sat at the table. Matt poured sparkling grape juice into Luke's glass, while the others had Champagne. Luke made a toast to Jon and Matt.
Dishes and bowls of food were passed. Jon got up to refill everyone's glasses.
Noah whispered in Luke's ear. 'Can we go after we eat?'
Luke narrowed his eyes at Noah and smirked. He whispered back, 'No.'
Noah placed his hand on Luke's thigh under the table and stroked it with his fingers.
Luke smiled innocently and placed his hand on top of Noah's hand.
Luke picked up Noah's hand and placed it over his cock.
Noah stifled a gasp. Luke was so hard! Noah couldn't understand how Luke could be so calm and composed.
Luke didn't feel very poised. He took a few bites of food and wiggled in his seat. He couldn't wait to get home to be with Noah.

Jon stood up and asked who was ready for cake.

Noah began laughing. When everyone eagerly said 'Me!'
Jon opened the odd shaped box and gasped, 'Holy shit Noah, where did you get this?'
Jon began laughing. Matt got up and looked in the box followed by Luke. They all giggled at the naughty shaped cake.
Noah gradually stopped laughing and said, 'I had it made. I know someone whose aunt makes cakes out of her home...for parties.
The 'dick' is a twinkie and there's a chopstick going through it to keep it standing up, so be careful in case you bite into it.'
Jon bent over it and took a bite while Matt took a picture. He handed the camera to Noah and went to stand by Jon. Jon kissed Matt while Noah took pictures of the happy couple.
Luke took a piece of cake and held it to Noah's mouth. Noah parted his lips and opened his mouth. He held Luke's wrist and guided the cake into his mouth. He swallowed it then began licking and sucking the frosting off of Luke's fingers one by one.
Luke panted, 'Noo..aahh.'
Jon called out, 'Hey do you want to hear where we want to go on our honeymoon?'
Luke and Noah replied, 'Sure!' Jon and Matt discussed when and where they wanted to be married, what they wanted to wear, and who they would invite.
Luke and Noah watched how animated and excited Jon and Matt were.
Noah knew how much Matt loved Jon. Noah could see it every time Matt looked admiringly at Jon.
They were clearly in love and so devoted to one another.
It showed with every touch on the arm, smile and look they gave to each other.
Noah wondered if he and Luke came off looking like that to other people. Noah glanced at Luke.
Luke was listening intently until he felt Noah staring at him. Luke turned his head still smiling and looked at Noah then he grinned.
Luke blew a kiss at Noah and turned back to Jon and Matt.
It was late when Luke noticed the time. Luke and Noah got up and walked to the door followed by their friends. Matt and Jon thanked them again for the cake. Matt hugged them each goodbye and Jon hugged and kissed them both.
'I don't know what we would do without you two. It means so much to Matt and I that you will be part of our wedding. You guys are the best! See you two around.'
Noah held Luke's hand while they walked into the apartment. As soon as the front door closed, Luke and Noah were in each others arms kissing. Noah stopped kissing him to get Luke's shirt over his head. Luke pushed his hands away, wanting to leave his shirt on. Noah recaptured the attention of Luke's mouth and lips.
Luke moaned pleasurably, 'Noaahhh...'
Then, Noah's shock and dismay Luke said, 'Noah, baby, can I talk to you first before we make love?'

'I don't really know Luke, why?'

Luke was elated and smiled. 'Yes, me too. You would be such a great daddy, Noah.'
Noah looked at Luke oddly, 'What is this? Are you pregnant?' Noah burst into a fit of laughter.
Luke slapped him on the back giggling. 'Dip shit! Listen to me.'
'Well what the hell Luke. I thought we agreed to get naked tonight.'
Luke smiled lopsidedly. 'Later baby.'
Luke stood up, pulling Noah with him. Luke kissed Noah happily. Luke cradled Noah's face and met his eyes.
'Noah, What I feel for you...I never felt with anyone. I love you so much..' Luke placed his hands over his heart and looked at Noah with tears in his eyes.
Noah asked 'Are you okay?' and hugged Luke.
Luke nodded and continued, 'The moment I opened my heart and let you in...you filled my heart with love... my heart is full. I know you're the only one for me.
You're what I have been waiting for my whole life, Noah. You're the future I dream of. I want to spend forever with you.'
Luke took Noah's hand, bent down on his knee and looked up. Noah Mayer, will you marry me?
Noah appeared to be dazed. He tried to think, his mouth was moving, but nothing came out but stutters and gasps. He pulled Luke up.
Noah asked, 'Are you serious?'
'Yes, I've never been more serious.'
Noah narrowed his eyes, 'Why would you ask me that now?'
Luke couldn't hide the hurt in his eyes. 'What?!' Luke stepped back.
Noah stepped toward him and tried to put an arm around Luke.
Luke pushed Noah's body away and shouted, 'Leave me ALONE!'
Noah pleaded with Luke, 'Why are you asking me the night Jon and Matt are celebrating....can we just please talk about this?'
Luke yelled back, 'NO! Go away!' Luke's voice cracked. 'GET AWAY FROM ME!'
Noah walked into the bedroom and laid down on the bed. He could hear Luke crying and swearing.
(I totally fucked up Luke's intentions tonight. I feel like a total asshole! Why did I question Luke's motives when they are clearly innocent? Why did I open my mouth at all. God I want to scream!!!! I need to quit analyzing and over thinking everything. Luke NEEDS me to trust him.)
Noah sat up and walked out to the living room. Luke was lying on the couch face down. His head was buried in his hands. Luke's body quaked and shook, while he lost control of all his emotions.
Noah sat next to him and stroked his back. 'Luke, I'm an idiot.'
Luke shrugged Noah's hand off. Luke bawled, 'Go away, Noah! Just go...'
Noah's shoulders trembled and a steady stream of tears sped down his face and dripped off his jaw.
Noah stroked the back of Luke's head and stood up. 'Will you come with me...talk to me?'
'No!' Luke cried.
Noah sobbed. 'Luke I know I've said some really stupid things before, but..what I said to you... was very..rude and disrespectful...'Noah sighed, 'For what it's worth, I am sorry.' He kissed Luke on the top of his head.'Good night.'
Luke turned his head and faced Noah. Luke's face had a pained look on it when he said,'Why is it so hard for you to believe that I am serious about us?'
Noah stared at Luke, 'You're right, it shouldn't be hard.'

Luke waited until Noah was out of the room then turned over onto his back. He rubbed his eyes with the palms of his hands.
(I wanted tonight to be so special. I wrote and memorized everything I wanted to say, I would propose, he would say yes, and we would make love.)

(Why did Jon and Matt have to pick this night, at the last minute, to celebrate? I had everything planned. I even had to wait to propose to Noah well AFTER midnight so it wouldn't be the same day! Why the hell is it so hard for Noah to believe my feelings are genuine and not based on outside influences?)

Luke opened his eyes. It was still dark out. He sat up and turned on the light that sat on the table near him. The kitchen clock read 5:39 a.m. He stretched, yawned and stood up. He was stiff from sleeping on the couch and had a headache from crying. All in all he felt like shit.

Noah woke up to a cold bed. He swore under his breath at his monumental mistake a few hours ago with Luke. What the fuck was he thinking? In his mind, he still could see the hurt and anguish in Luke's eyes. All Luke wanted to do was love him and share his life with him. He knew he cheapened Luke's beautiful proposal with his asinine question and remarks about Jon and Matt.
He walked out into the living room to talk to Luke.

Luke drove to the farm. He knew his dad would be up doing chores and wouldn't mind the help.
Luke pulled into the driveway and turned off the headlights. He jumped down and slammed the truck door shut.
Holden walked out of the barn and waved to Luke.
'Hi Luke, how are you? I didn't think you got out of bed before nine!'
Luke smiled. 'Nice to see you too, dad. Want some help?'
Holden was taken aback. 'I just finished, but thanks. Hungry?'
Luke shook his head. 'I came to talk to you about me and Noah, if you have the time to listen.'
Holden said, 'You can always talk to me, anytime. Noah too.'
They walked into the kitchen. Luke sat at the table facing his dad. Holden stood behind the counter.
Holden asked, 'What can I get for you son? Eggs, danish, fruit, leftover pasta?'
Luke's lip trembled. He said softly, 'Just some orange juice and Tylenol.'
Holden poured the juice and handed the pills to Luke.
'Do you want to talk about it?' asked Holden.
Luke nodded. 'I asked Noah to marry me a few hours ago, after we celebrated Jon and Matt's engagement. I think...actually, I know, Noah didn't think I was serious and thought I was influenced by their announcement, but I wasn't. I had been planning it for a while.'
Holden asked, 'So things got a little awkward?'
Luke nodded and took a sip of orange juice. 'I don't think he has a lot of faith in me.' a tear escaped and rolled down Luke's cheek.
Holden walked around the counter and sat next to Luke. He placed his hand on Luke's shoulder firmly. 'He loves you, Luke.'
Luke pressed his lips together before continuing on.'How did you know mom would marry you? Were you sure she would say yes?'
Holden laughed, 'No I wasn't sure. I knew I had to ask her or risk losing her.'
Luke stated, 'I was sure Noah would say yes. Instead he questioned my integrity.'
'Well Luke, everyone has their insecurities. It sounds like his may need more nurturing than most.'
Luke asked, 'Where do I go from here?'
Holden rubbed Luke's back and said, 'My guess is that you and Noah will figure that out together.' He patted Luke's back and stood up. 'Come on, I'll grab the eggs and you get cracking.'
Luke stood up as the phone rang.
Holden answered. 'Hello?....Just a moment Noah.'
Holden handed the phone to Luke and left the room to give him privacy.
Luke mumbled, 'Hello?'
'Luke? I got your note. Thanks for letting me know where you went.' Then Noah asked hesitantly, 'Are you okay?'
'No I'm not okay, Noah. I thought I would be ecstatic and engaged when I woke up today.'
Noah said meekly, 'Come home to me?'
Luke melted, 'Okay baby.'

Luke parked and got out of Noah's truck. He looked up at the cool blue sky and thought of Noah's eyes. Just the thought of Noah brought a smile to his lips.
Luke unlocked the door and walked into their apartment. He closed the door behind him and called out, 'Noah?'
He was met with silence. He walked into the kitchen.
A note on the counter said.
Luke, I'll be back with breakfast.

Luke smiled and went into the bathroom and stripped. He slid into the tub and groaned. Steamy water and bubbles surrounded his body, erasing the aches from his muscles. He slid further until his whole body was submerged and his head rested of the back of the bathtub. He closed his eyes. Luke had to give Noah credit. He knew what Luke needed at almost any given moment.
Luke rose out of the bathtub. Beads of water ran down his body as he toweled off. Noah still wasn't back yet. He couldn't have gone far on foot. Luke walked into the bedroom and got dressed. He ran his fingers through his hair a few times and walked into the kitchen. The door opened and Noah walked in.
'Hi!' Noah smiled at Luke.
Luke said, 'Hi yourself.'
Their eyes met and begged the other for the chance to let go of all the uncertainty of this moment.
They ran to each other and hugged with apologies and kisses.
Noah held Luke at arms length and took his hand. 'Luke, I would love the chance to continue to learn and grow with you. Everyday is not enough days to tell you how much I am in love with you, how much I need and want you in my life. I'm promising you my faith, my trust, my friendship and my love right now, forever.'
Noah reached into his pocket. He pulled out and opened a purple velvet box containing a simple, yet beautiful, gold engagement ring.
Noah knelt on one knee and asked, 'Luke, will YOU marry me?'
Luke cried out 'YES!!' He hugged Noah around the neck tightly and Noah buried his head in Luke's shoulder.
He whispered in Luke's ear, 'My answer was yes too. You just caught me off guard.'
'Oh I have to call my mom and dad!' Luke ran to the phone then ran back to Noah and kissed him on the lips. Luke held his hand and they walked over to the phone together.
Luke stopped.'Noah? When did you buy this?'
Noah answered, 'A while ago, why?'
'When were you 'really' going to ask me?'
Noah replied, 'When the time was right.'
Luke smiled at Noah and hugged him again. 'Noah you have made me so happy that I'm crying! In case they ask,when are we thinking of doing this?'
Noah said, 'After graduation and I get a good job. You too. I don't want you sitting at home eating Bon-Bons and watching Jerry Springer!'
Luke picked up the phone and dialed. He told his dad he was going to get married. Holden went to get Lilly on the phone and Luke told her. He ended up having to tell everyone as the phone got passed around the farmhouse. Then everyone wanted to say 'hi' to Noah. Noah finally said 'bye' and hung up.
Luke laughed. 'We probably should have just went over there and announced it, it would have been faster! Here call your parents.'
Noah called, and they were excited as well. Noah promised his parents they would meet Luke when they came out to Branson to visit during Christmas break. He chatted and laughed a while longer and handed the phone to Luke.
'Hello?'
'Luke?'
Luke answered, 'Yes.'
'This is Noah's stepmother, Jill. I just want to say thank you for taking such good care of our son. Noah talks so highly of you. Noah's dad and I feel like we know you already. We are so happy for both of you, and welcome into the family honey.'
Luke smiled. 'Thank you so much.'
'I can't wait to meet your parents Noah! Let's go tell Jon and Matt!' Luke grabbed Noah's hand and pulled but Noah stayed anchored.
'Umm..they already know. I had to keep the ring somewhere. When I went to get it they obviously knew I was going to ask.'
Luke smiled slyly, 'So you went there? I thought you really went to get breakfast.'
Noah smiled secretively, 'I do have breakfast.'
