Chapter 8 part 1
They road back to the barn and turned the horses over to Derek to brush down. Keith was out in the exercise ring riding Shadow around. Luke came up to Derek and asked him about last night. “Are you and Keith getting along ok? It looks to Noah and I that you did more than chat last night.”
“Yes you could say that. We did have a good time. You will have to thank Noah for me. I am so glad he brought Keith with him. Speaking of Noah, how are you two getting along? I could tell he was important to you when he called and you heard his voice. I knew then that I didn’t have a chance with you. I really care about you Luke and I want you to be happy. I knew when I saw that constant grin on your face since he got here that you are. I just hope he doesn’t hurt you! What is going to happen with the two of you when he goes back to Cheyenne?”
“He will move here, I am sure. Maybe Keith will come here to live with Noah. You would like that wouldn’t you?”
“I wouldn’t be too sure about that! I don’t think he is going to give up his ranch.”
“Yes he will; he loves me.” About that time Noah came into the stable. “Who loves you?” He said as he came up behind Luke.
“Why… who do you think?” They both laughed and headed to the house.
Derek was not laughing though, because he felt Luke was in for some heartbreak. Keith brought Shadow into the stall and brushed him down, put some oats in the feeder and came out to stand with Derek. “Keith do you think that Noah will ever leave Cheyenne and move here with Luke?”
“Heavens no, Luke will have to move to Wyoming if he wants to be with Noah. Why do you ask, did he say he would?”
“No, Luke just thinks that Noah will be willing to stay here.”
“Never Happen I assure you!”
“God, I love kissing you, I can never get enough.”
“I enjoy it too, but you are going to have to let me go and get ready for our dinner.”
“Okay, Okay, I will let you go for now, but tonight I am not going to let you slip away. You are going to be mine! I want to possess you body and soul.”
“You will get your chance later, I promise.” They had spent the entire day together talking, working with Derek, Keith and Shadow. Luke had told Noah what his plans were for Shadow. He shared with Noah about his books that he had written (none of which Noah had read). They were not his “cup of tea.” They were fiction of historical time travel, falling in love with someone from another time. Noah liked non-fiction books about the Indians and their interaction with the white settlers! Luke had told Noah that his next book would take place in Cheyenne, Wyoming with a very handsome Indian Warrior, written just for him.
“You know that you are knock down gorgeous and I want to do all kinds of great but naughty things to you. I am not sure I can wait till after dinner to take you completely and make you a part of me.”
Luke teasingly said, “Well I guess you will have to because we are going to eat first.”
“Oh okay but then …” They walked hand in hand into the dinning room, lights were out and the candles were lit all around the room. The table was set and ready for them to have a very intimate dinner. Wine was poured, soft music played in the background and first course of the dinner was being served. Noah kept staring at Luke because he was absolutely the most beautiful thing he had ever seen with the candlelight dancing in his eyes!
Noah couldn’t help himself, he leaned over the table and briefly kissed Luke and whispered, “I’m lost every time I look at you. I can’t think straight so you will have to lead me through this night!”
Luke was so taken with Noah’s words that tears formed in his eyes. “ I know this is really soon since we have only known each other a couple of weeks but I want you to know that I love you Noah.” Noah was so happy to hear that he was not the only one feeling the draw between them. He had never encountered anyone like Luke and as soon as he saw him he knew he was hooked.
“Luke, I am in love with you too. Let’s finish dinner so we can go on with our wonderful, exciting evening. That is if you want to finish dinner.” Luke got up walked around the table and pulled Noah up by the hand. “You want me to lead you through the night, well let’s go on that journey.”
