Luke was really excited going back to Faith’s with Aaron and Faith’s husband, Tom.

“So that was Noah? The guy you had just broken up with when I met you?”

“Yes”

“Why the heck did he run away like that?”

“I don’t know, he looked like he’d seen a ghost” he smiled, who cared about Noah running away? He looked cute, and hot, and just like Noah, his Noah.

“He wasn’t wearing a ring… and did you see the shopping basket he dropped? All full of food for one person”

Tom smiled. He had known Luke for quite some time, now. They met in Chicago when Luke was running away from Noah and the pain of the sudden break up. He hadn’t seen that spark before. And he wouldn’t stop talking.

“He is single, I am telling you… I have to see him again, what shall I do? I can’t watch the shop day and night, would be crazy… wouldn’t it?”

Tom couldn’t help but imagine Luke keeping the shop on tight watch.

“Shit, I really have to see him again… “ he smiled “I can’t believe I found him, after weeks of waking up with his voice”

“How about you check the phone listings? He probably lives nearby”

“You’re right, or maybe he works around here. He said something about TV… any studios around?”

“Not that I know of”

“So he probably lives here…”

Luke spun around looking at all the houses and buildings and Aaron laughed

“He is here somewhere, Tom…”

Tom laughed and picked Aaron up and made him spin like Luke. The three of them were laughing like kids, now. He’d never seen Luke this happy.

When they got home Faith greeted them at the door with Emma. Luke’s sister smiled when she saw their faces

“What’s up?”

Tom smiled and kissed her

“Luke has seen Noah”

“What? Where? You mean Noah’s here?”

Luke couldn’t stop smiling

“Yes, I saw him, and we talked for a little bit. He is single, you know?”

“Single?”

She couldn’t keep up with him

“Well, he didn’t say so, but I know it, he wasn’t wearing a ring, and he had a basket full of typical single guy food!”

He hugged Faith

“And he talked to Aaron, you should have seen them together, Faith… so great, so perfect.”

“Luke… he le”

“Don’t, please… don’t tell me again that he left me. I don’t care. You didn’t see him, the way he looked at me. I can tell he still has some feelings for me”

“Oh, Luke…”

Luke held her face in his hands and looked at her

“I haven’t felt like this in 10 years, Faith… don’t try to make me wake up, I don’t want to… I need to believe in this, please”

“I don’t want you to get hurt again”

“Let me feel this, alright? I know it might not last. And I know that I might not see him again, but I really think that maybe I could… I don’t know, I have this great feeling that everything is going to be… ”

“Well, well…”

Tom walked in the room with a laptop in his hands

“There is a Noah Mayer listed…”

Luke smiled

“He is? Shit! I knew it!”

“Are you going to call him now? You can invite him over for supper if you want”

Luke kissed Faith

“I love you, sis. I’ll call him tomorrow morning, okay? Now it’s Aaron’s bath time”

Luke called Aaron and started with their evening’s routines. He always felt kind of alone when he was taking care of Aaron. He loved his son with all his heart, but being a single dad wasn’t easy. It would be great if Noah could be there with him. He let himself daydream for a while. Noah kissing him hello after a long day at work, talking to Aaron while getting supper ready, walking around holding hands with Aaron running back and forth…

“Daddy?”

“What”

“Are you mad?”

“No, of course not, why?”

Aaron touched Luke’s eyebrows and Luke smiled

“Why would I be mad with a son like you? You are my sunshine, remember?”

Aaron smiled

“Yes… but I am not a sunshine, I am a boy, remember?”

Luke laughed and hugged him

“Well, you are my sunshine, like it or not”

“Are we going to see your friend again?”

“I don’t know, I hope so, why?”

“I liked him”

Luke smiled, his son’s approval was all he needed

“Then we’ll have to call him and tell him to come over for supper tomorrow, what do you think?”

Aaron smiled

“Okay”

Luke touched his son’s face, he loved him so much that it scared him sometimes… if something ever happen to him he would probably die on the spot. The thought of losing him made his heart stop beating.

“Can I play before supper? Please?”

Luke smiled

“Please, daddy… 5 minutes?”

“Alright, but you come as soon as I call you, you hear me?”

“Yes!”

Luke took him out of the water and helped him get his pajamas on and hugged him. He was getting so big… god, he loved him, and if he could have Noah’s love too his life would be perfect…
