Luke woke up slowly, Cheshire cat grin firmly in place. He could definitely get used to this. He and Noah had just spent their first night in their new apartment, and Luke felt like he would burst open from the flurry of excitement and rapture he felt inside him.
The last couple of days had been a whirlwind of activity. They’d made the mistake of telling his family about the move, and of course, everyone had offered to help. And none of them would take no for an answer. Luke had never been so grateful for his family. Of course, it meant that at no point did he and Noah get a second to themselves, but they’d made up for that last night.
Of course, after packing and moving and unpacking and the umpteen goodbyes and well wishes from his family, neither of them had had energy enough to do anything more than crash into bed and fall asleep. But that was enough to make Luke happy. He couldn’t believe he’d never realized what he was missing all this time. That he had ever gone without the feel of Noah curled up next to him as they slept. Even after only one night, Luke knew he would never be able to go back.
He rolled onto his side, his eyes still closed to shield off the sun, and breathed in. He could smell something distinctively Noah, and reached his hand between the sheets, to his side.
He frowned when he reached nothing. Squinting against the morning sun, he took a look around the room. Boxes, check. But no Noah. Luke laughed to himself once again at the difference between Noah’s boxes and his own. You see, Noah’s boxes were numbered and ordered and stacked neatly. Where as Luke’s boxes were... organizationally challenged. At least, that’s how Noah had put it when he’d seen Luke throwing his stuff into them the day before.
Speaking of whom, Luke was just contemplating crawling out of bed to look for Noah, when he saw the door slowly open, and he smelt another distinctive smell. Breakfast.
He smiled widely, and sat up against the headboard as he watched Noah enter. Noah stopped at the end of the bed when he realized Luke was awake. “Good morning.”
Luke smirked, “Morning. I never realized you were so domestic.”
Noah rolled his eyes as he walked towards Luke with the tray of food. “Shut up or you won’t get any.”
Luke laughed as Noah placed the tray on his lap. It was just bacon and eggs, but he didn’t care. “It looks great.”
Noah placed a hand on Luke’s bare shoulder and leaned down, “Not as good as you.” Luke had just enough time to turn towards him before Noah’s lips were on his, and had it not been for the food in his lap, Luke would have thrown Noah down on the bed and had his way with him. Luke decided then and there, he wanted to wake up like this every morning.
Noah reluctantly pulled away and used Luke’s momentary distraction to his advantage, grabbing a piece of bacon off the plate and eating it as he got back in on his side of the bed. Luke laughingly shook his head at Noah, and he dug into his breakfast before Noah could claim any more.
Yep. He could definitely get used to this.
