As sappy as it may sound, making love to me is not just about physical attraction, it is about becoming one with another person. As wonderful as it is to kiss someone, or hold each other, or lie next to them, you do not really experience that sense of oneness entirely until you go "all the way" with them. By that, I mean penetration. Obviously that has a very different meaning for two men as opposed to a man and a woman. For me, those experiences (admittedly with only one person) in which I did go all the way were much more special and intimate than the times that I didn't.

What I am trying to say, is that it isn't necessary, but it does bring a new level of intimacy and closeness than other forms of sex, at least in my opinion."
