| 79 October 8, 2007 Dusty tells a cop who shot him. Noah goes to see Luke. Col. Mayer's shot doesn't go off. Once the gun is loaded, Noah and Luke are both gone. Col. Mayer meets Luke on top of the hill, then they struggle. Noah, Lily, and Holden show up as Col. Mayer pushes Luke down the hill. He aims the gun down the hill and shoots. | |
| 80 October 8, 2007 Margo gets a call about Dusty. Col. Mayer and Noah fight and the Col. runs away. Lily goes to Luke's side followed by Noah and Holden, who calls 911. Margo and Dusty talk. Luke goes into surgery. Margo comes to talk with Lily, Holden, and Noah and takes Noah away. Holden is angry with Lily. | |
| 81 October 10, 2007 Luke's out of surgery. Margo and Noah begin to talk. Lily and Holden go to Al's and Col. Mayer shows up in Luke's room, but is interrupted. Lily and Holden argue at the diner. Col. Mayer returns by Luke with a syringe. | |
| 82 October 10, 2007 Margo and Noah continue to talk. Noah learns the truth. Col. Mayer proceeds to inject Luke, but is interrupted by Lily. Col. Mayer attacks Lily and Dusty saves her. Col. Mayer is arrested! Luke is confused about the accident. Noah confronts Col. Mayer in the police station. | |
| 83 October 10, 2007 Luke learns the truth about Col. Mayer and Noah's mom. Luke realizes he can't feel his legs. Dusty tries to comfort Noah and talks him into going to see Luke. Luke can't move his legs! Noah sees this and leaves. | |
| 84 October 11, 2007 Noah asks Dusty about his mom. Bob tells Lily and Holden that Luke's paralysis may be permanent, but not to give up hope. A frustrated Luke smacks his legs and falls out of bed. |

Maddie nailed it--the Col. is crazy. The actor really is doing a great job. I keep being surprised at the chemistry between Jake and Van. I wonder how many actors they screen tested for it. I have seen my fair share of soap couples and there are some that have it and some that don't. These two have it.
And the writers keep surprising me. The whole "why can't I feel my legs?" threw me for a loop. Here I was reading the spoilers, knowing that Luke was going to be hurt and I am still shocked at the possibility that Luke is going to be paralyzed. Boy they are really treating them like every other soap couple! And it accomplishes so many things. It slows down the physicality of their relationship but will allow the attraction to continue. Noah is going to go on an emotional roller coaster as will Luke. It will allow the audience that isn't quite behind them to feel badly, and maybe even root for them a little. |
