Noah was in the gym locker room tieing his shoes. He was getting ready for the final intramural game of the playoffs. He couldn't believe that his team had a chance at 1st place.

After Noah had thought for so long that nothing good in his life was ever going to happen, he met Luke and everything changed. The last month had been the most amazing of his life. He and Luke had spent Valentine's Day together. Exchanging gifts not bought in a store, but from their hearts. They had spent the day making love and sharing a special dinner that Luke had planned. Midterms were over and he had surprised himself with what he had done, even in his Media Arts class, which was very difficult after what had happened with Dave. He had joined another group and they got along really well. The most amazing thing that happened in the last month was that he had discovered from his Aunt Ruth that Winston Mayer was not his father. His real father lived in a suburb just west of Chicago. He not only had a father but a whole family, that accepted him and Luke and loved him from the moment they met.

Yes, he and Luke were blissfully happy. Now if he could only get through this game. "Hi Noah. Ready for the game?"

Noah turned to find Eddie standing next to him. Eddie dropped his bag on the floor. "Yeah, I'm ready."

Eddie sat down. "I can almost taste that trophy."

Noah put his stuff in the locker. "I'm not so sure about that. These guys are really good. Three of them played high school ball. They just didn't make the cut for Oakdale's team."

Eddie waved off Noah's comments. "I don't want to hear it. Having the right mind set is very important. If we don't think that we will win we can't. So get those thoughts out of your head."

Noah closed his locker. "Okay."

Eddie got up. "That's better. Let's get this show on the road."

Luke was sitting in the stands with Roth. Greg had decided to sit with them as long as they didn't sit in the middle of the gay section. "I hope they win."

Greg was drinking a cola. "I don't know. The other team is pretty good. They are really going to have to bring their A game."

Luke turned to Greg. "I'm sure they have. Eddie has really been pushing them hard, but win or lose Noah will be okay. He didn't think they would get this far."

Roth chimed in. "Not Eddie. He has been determined to take this thing since the beginning. Second just wont be good enough."

Will and Gwen came walking up the bleachers. "Hi Luke."

Luke got up. "Hi guys. Glad you could make it. Will and Gwen this is Roth and Greg."

Gwen had met Roth once before. She had never met Greg, but remembered her conversation with Luke about him. "Hi guys." Gwen whispered to Luke. "Is this?"

Luke nodded. "It's okay. You were right."

Will and Gwen sat down in front of Luke, Greg and Roth. "It's pretty crowded. Looks like it will be a good game."

Luke nodded. "Yeah it should be. My parents are coming with Faith."

Gwen smiled. "So they are getting along now?"

Luke shrugged. "They have their ups and downs. Right now it's cool. Hard to predict how long it will last."
