“Welcome Home”
“When did you send that?” Noah asked Luke who still has his arms tightly wrapped around his boyfriends neck placing little kisses all over his face and neck. “Hmm? Oh the text. A few minutes ago. Come on let’s go home.” Luke said and slowly moved his hands down Noah’s arms until he reached his hands. He entwined their fingers and started to move in the direction of the exit.
“Uh Noah you might want to take this with you too.” Someone said behind them. “Oh yes, thanks Mark.” Noah stammered as he walked over to his friend who was holding his bag and laughing loudly. “I can’t believe you almost forgot your own luggage man. Are you that eager to get that blond god of yours home?” Mark teased. “Uh we uh just sort of got lost in the moment I guess.. and where is John anyway? Isn’t he picking you up?” Noah asked trying to change the subject. “Ah well you see John is a bit uh.. chaotic. He always loses things and he’s almost always at least 10 minutes late. But he’s mine and I love him anyway.” Mark says smiling. “So aren’t you going to introduce me to your blond god?” “Only if you stop calling him that. His name is Luke.” Noah said and suddenly remembered the last time he had said that to someone. He shook his head to get rid of those thoughts. He’s not ruining this moment for me. He thought
“Luke, I want you to meet someone.” Noah said grabbing Luke’s hand and walked with him back to where Mark stood still holding Noah’s bag. “Luke this is Mark, we were roommates in Rome. Mark this is my boyfriend Luke.” Noah said reluctantly letting go of Luke’s hand so he could shake Mark’s. “So you’re the boyfriend huh? Noah’s told me a lot about you. And I’m not just saying that.” Mark said jokingly. “Well I haven’t really heard anything about you.” Luke said looking at Noah. “All he said that his roommate was a nice guy.” Yeah I’ve heard some of your phone calls. Talking about me wasn’t exactly top of the lust uh I mean list.” Mark said and laughed at his own joke. “Sorry guys I think my brain isn’t functioning anymore after spending all that time on that plane. I’m not usually this much of a geek.”
“Nope usually he’s worse.” A guy with black and purple hair and wearing skinny jeans and some sort of band t-shirt said as he wrapped his arms around Marks waist from behind and gently kissed him on the cheek. “Hi baby, sorry I’m late.” Mark turned around and pulled the guy in for a kiss. “Hmm I missed you too” the guy said after they broke the kiss. “Want to continue this at home?” Luke and Noah stood watching Mark say hello to the guy they assumed was his boyfriend and began to feel a little uncomfortable. “We’re just uh going home now.” Noah said. Mark snapped out of his and his boyfriends own little world and turned around, the guy’s arms still around his waist. “No, no wait guys, sorry, when it comes to him I tend to have tunnel vision. Guys, this is my boyfriend John. John this is Noah, you know the guy I shared a room with in Rome. And the blond god next to him, that’s his boyfriend Luke.” Mark said and gave Noah a grin. Nice to meet you’s were exchanged and plans were made to go out together sometime soon.
“Mark is a nice guy.” Luke said watching Noah get behind the wheel of his beloved truck and getting in himself. “Yeah, yeah he is.” Noah said running his hands over the wheel. “Noah, did you miss your truck more than me?” Luke said trying not to sound jealous. He was not going to let Noah know he wished Noah would run his hands over him like that. I’m losing my mind, he thought, I’m jealous of a damn car! The feel of Noah’s lips on his neck made him snap out of his thoughts. “Hmm I can’t do this to the truck can I?” Noah said in between kisses while his hand got dangerously close to the zipper on Luke’s jeans. “Shall we take the long way home?” Noah said, his voice barely more than a whisper. “Sounds great.” Luke said and hoped Noah meant what he hoped he meant by taking the long way home.
They arrived at the farm almost an hour later than planned due to the two of them taking the long way home. “I’m never going to be able to look at your truck in the same way ever again.” Luke said smiling while he was buttoning up one of Noah’s shirts that he had put on because his own wasn’t Emma-proof anymore. “I think I should maybe do my own laundry this time. We don’t want Emma to see your shirt like that. You know with the mysterious stains on it.” Noah said with a naughty grin and switched the engine off and got out of the truck. Luke smiled at himself and thought about what had just happened. Out of all the things he had thought would or could happen when Noah came back from Rome he never imagined the two of them finally being together like THAT in Noah’s truck. Maybe not the most romantic thing ever but it had been perfect for them. “Hey do I have to start calling you a blond god too now to make you get out of that car? Noah said jokingly leaning on Luke’s door. “Sorry, I was just re-living a moment.” Luke said smiling and got out of the car. “Oh were you now?” Noah said with a naughty grin on his face and pulled Luke close. “So tell me, was it as good as the first time?”
“There you two finally are!” Emma said getting up from the kitchen table. “Welcome back Noah.” She said and hugged him. “Let me tell you one thing, Luke is not the only one that’s glad to have you back. It’s a joy to have you around here, Noah and the farm was too quiet while you were in Rome. Now you two sit down and relax, Holden and Lily and the kids will be here in a few minutes.” She said and put a plate of homemade cookies on the table. “What? Mum and dad are coming over?” Luke said looking very unhappy. “Oh don’t worry darling they won’t stay long. The girls just wanted to say hello to Noah when he got home.” Emma told her grandson. Luke sighed and sat down at the kitchen table next to Noah putting his head on his boyfriend’s shoulder. “Oh come on, it won’t be that bad.” Noah said laughingly. “I know, I know, I just hoped to have you all to myself tonight. You’ve been away for a month and I missed you. I just wanted to be alone with you tonight.” Luke said kicking himself for sounding so needy. Noah wrapped an arm around him and softly said: “I think we already took care of some of that alone time on the way home”.
“Welcome home Noah!”Nat shouted as she ran towards her brother’s boyfriend. “Hey Nat, Thanks. It’s good to be home again.” Noah said while the little girl wrapped her arms around his waist. “I missed you.” She said, looking up at Noah. “I missed you too.” Noah said and bent down a little to give the girl a proper hug. “Nat, be careful with my boyfriend, don’t strangle him. I need him in one piece ok?” Luke said laughingly and watched his other sister throw her arms around his boyfriend’s neck. “Hi Faith.” Noah said hugging the other girl. “Welcome home. Did you miss me?” she asked. Noah laughed and told her he had missed her a lot. “But not as much as Luke right?” She asked and giggled as Noah started blushing. “Well he’s my boyfriend Faith, he’s supposed to miss me more.” Luke said trying to save Noah from his little sisters and their interrogation techniques. “Why don’t you two go find a film to watch?” Noah suggested. “Luke and I will be right there ok? We’ll have a Finding Nemo marathon.”
“Mum! What are you doing?” Luke said slightly annoyed. “Why are you taking pictures of me and Noah?!” “Why not?” Lily asked smiling. “It’s good to see you smiling again. I haven’t seen that in about a month. I wanted to catch the moment on camera.” “Very funny.” Luke said sounding even more annoyed. I like seeing my son happy. And I like having pictures of that. Lily said and took one more picture, just when Noah kissed Luke on the cheek. “I like seeing you smile too. I missed it when I was in Rome.” Noah said softly and Luke smiled brightly at his boyfriend. The annoyance from before completely forgotten.
“Aren’t you tired yet?” Luke asked his boyfriend who was sitting next to him on their bench near the pond. “You’ve been travelling all day.” Hmm yeah a little. But I don’t want to move yet. I’m pretty comfy here with you.” Noah said kissing the top of Luke’s head. Luke yawned. “Sorry, I’m tired. I didn’t sleep much last night.” He said giving Noah an apologetic look. “It’s ok. We’ll just go to bed. I’ll walk you to your room.” Noah said with a hint of sarcasm and frustration in his voice. It suddenly hit Luke he hadn’t told Noah yet about the conversation he’d had with his grandma earlier that day. No more rules. But instead of telling his boyfriend the good news he decided to play with Noah a little. “Hmm do I get a kiss good night on my doorstep then?” He asked sweetly. “You can have anything you want.” Noah said and gave Luke a quick peck on the lips before getting up from the bench. Luke stood up too and grabbed Noah’s hand entwining their fingers. Slowly they walked back to the farm house, said goodnight to Emma and walked up the stairs. The reached Luke’s bedroom door and Noah’s across the hallway from it. “Here we are again.” Noah sighed and looked a bit sad. Luke just put his arms around his neck and kissed him. “Good night, I’ll dream of you tonight.” Noah said after they broke the kiss and started walking towards his room. “Where do you think you’re going?” Luke asked grinning. “Uh.. to bed. To my room” Noah said confused. “Well then you’re going the wrong way.” Luke said grabbing Noah’s arm with one hand and opening his bedroom door with the other. “This is your room from now on. I talked to Grandma. No more rules.” Luke said as he pulled Noah into his, no their bedroom.
This is the best welcome home present ever. Noah thought.
