Did anyone else notice that in the second scene with Reg, Luke leaves with a box that he didnt walk in with? I just thought it was kinda funny. 3  out of 5 found this valuable. Do you?

i think those scenes were shot at a different time, cause lukes hair is styled a bit different too
those scenes were probably added into the episode later

I read an interview where Van said that they film each day by set location, rather than continually. So sometimes they might have scenes in a couple of places, but the first might be filmed in the morning, and the second filmed later on that day - so they do a bit of waiting between scenes. I don't know whether it's because of budget cuts or what, but ATWT apparently is trying to get by without a person handling continuity. It's not only the scene you mentioned but also in the Times Square shooting a couple of weeks ago. Guess they figure it's too expensive to reshoot. Do you find this valuable?

I guess with having to air 5 episodes a week, they don't have much time to reshoot things. But I am often surprised at the things they let slip by. One thing that always stands out to me is when the actors stumble over their lines. I guess it makes it more "realistic" or whatever, but sometimes it's annoying. I can't think of any specific examples, but I know that it has happened A LOT. Do you find this valuable?

I've had the same thought! Sometimes they'll get the lines spot on, and you can forget that they're acting, but then they'll accidentally stall or stutter or something and it really breaks the moment.

One that i remember specifically was a while back, on the episode where Luke and Noah went swimming and they are talking about Noah making it big and Luke says something like "You have to maintain your artistic integrity" or something like that, and stumbles a bit. But considering the sentance, i think most people would have. And i suppose if i really think about it, if i were Luke, standing in close proximity to a topless Noah, i would barely even remember my own name. Let alone, how to speak actual sentances...

Doesn't make it any less frustrating though :-)

I know exactly what you are talking about! I always hated that line because of how Van said it, including the stumbling. But, as you said, if I were in his shoes I would be Stuttering Stanley trying to get my lines out.

I always cringe at that line too - i love Van and hate that they couldn't have reshot that scene.

Now you've got me trying to think of other lines like that lol That was just the first one that came to mind, but as you said, it happens ALOT.

It's not as bad now as it used to be back in the early days of soaps. The Carol Burnett Show used to do a soap opera spoof called As the Stomach Turns. The most famous gag was when Marion, played by Carol Burnett, would say, "I'll get it." and a second or two later the doorbell would ring. I didn't think much of it until I started watching reruns of Dark Shadows. Apparently they never did retakes because actors would stumble over their lines; stagehands, cameras, and, microphones would be caught on camera; and the actors had to work with cheesy props.

Although I agree they need someone working on continuity, in this instance I don't think there was any error. Luke was picking boxes up from Java to take to Noah to use in packing. He didn't have them when he walked into Java because he was getting them from Jave to take back to Noah's place to pack stuff. I haven't gone back to view the video again, but from memory I think there was also a box in his hand when he left Jave the first time in that episode, but I could be wrong about that part. Anyway, I'd rather believe the "picking the box up from Java" angle than believe that the show's director/others are really that stupid, haha. Do you find this valuable?
