Many of you know Scajor aka Samantha aka Chicago for her insightful comments and fanfics here. But did you know she's also a blogger writing on issues relating to LGBT rights? Check out her column on Amplify...here's the link. ...http://www.amplifyyourvoice.org/u/Mahayana

Thanks so much for recommending my blog, Sue!!

My most recent post was about the National Equality March, and right now I'm working on one about Proposition 1 in Maine, which has become their version of Prop. 8 from California.

You're quite welcome. I read with interest your blog on the National Equality March. I'm only an hour and 15 minutes from DC by car.. Thinking about going.

Who's behind the Prop 8 question in Maine? Are you surprised? Does it stand a chance?

You should DEFINITELY go to the March!! If you do, you've got to let me know all about it. I most likely won't be able to go, but I really wish I could.

I'm finishing up my first blog post about Maine right now, but here's a few things...

1) Maine has a "people's veto" law that allows people, if they get enough signatures, to put a referendum on the ballot that would overturn a law.

2) No, I'm not surprised that this is happening. It's upsetting, definitely, but not surprising.

3) Maine definitely stands a chance. For more on why, read my next blog. I'll be posting it tomorrow. :-)

As a note to everyone, I'll only be posting the links here to my blog posts that are LGBTQ related. I do write on a few other topics, but since this thread is in the "Gay Interest" category, I thought this would be appropriate.

Ah...Sam...so glad you posted this link to your blog....

I heard a piece today on NPR about the Maine initiative and it scared me half to death....I had planned to email you tonight about it and get a thread going here to let the other members know what's going on and what bull s*** is being pushed by the anti-gay marriage forces. Led by the Archdiocese of Portland and national groups, the anti-forces have hired the leaders of the successful fight concerning Prop 8 in California. Their ads are telling Mainer voters that if gay marriage is allowed, children in grammar school will be "forced" to study gay lifestyle and who knows what that will lead to...sheesh!

Please folks, read Sam's blog over on Amplify and become informed!.

Great blog. Just read some of the articles. It's nice to see folks (you happened to be a fellow Nukie is just icing on the cake) spreading the word of The LGBT Rights Movement. I'm tagging the blog to my regular blog reading rotation. I suggest others to do the same... or at least drop in for a read.

Thumbs up in my book. :)

Well Hallelujah! Somebody finally shows that the Bible is open to interpretation and not just to
support the views of one group over another.

I applaud the sponsoring group's campaign to promote discussion on this very important matter.

Thanks, Sam for shining a national spotlight on these efforts. Really surprised that it was a Texas-based
group that created the billboard campaign. I just hope groups in other states
feel secure enough to create similar billboard campaigns.
